In June 2006 the Gymnasium at the Centre was awarded the prestigious 'GymMark' by British Gymnastics one of the first 100 clubs in the country to be recognised in this way.

This was closely followed by the 'Club Mark' award from Sport England.

The highly prized awards recognise that the Gymnasium is 'child-friendly' in its approach, delivers equality in its coaching, maintains high standards, and keeps to the British Gymnastics care and welfare policies.

Stephen Morris, Head of Coaching said ' This is a reflection of how the club is managed. Our standards are extremely high, we employ fantastic dedicated staff and coaches, who have the right skills and qualifications to teach disabled and non-disabled children alike'.

Wingate Centre Staff

The gym staff are qualified by the British Gymnastics Association, to teach both trampoline and gymnastics to disability and mainstream Centre users.

All staff members have been screened and approved through a Police and Social Services search.

The staff can run British Gymnastics Association approved qualifying courses in gymnastics for both General and Special Needs gymnasts.
